Dear Friends,
This week I’m giving over my usual remarks to Eileen Erickson, who is leaving Immaculate Conception after 30 years as being the parish secretary. This title “Secretary” encapsulates so much more than answering the phone or the door. She has been the face of the parish, the first person people meet at the door or on the phone. Being in that position, she has made a wonderful difference in the lives of so many people.
To My Friends at Immaculate Conception Parish,
It is hard to believe that 30 years have come and gone so fast. I know we all say it, but it’s true. It has been a privilege to serve you through the years. While I may not know many of you personally, I have met you on the phone during the happy moments of your lives and during the most difficult moments of your lives. Each time has been a reminder of how God’s grace works through all of us.
I especially want to thank Fr. Ed and Fr. Tom for their kindness and support shown to me over the years. Each had his own style of doing things, but each of them always held the parish close to their hearts. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them and also with Fr. Michael. As I start a new chapter of my life, I know that you will always be in my heart and in my prayers, and I would like to ask the same of you.
Sincerely,
Eileen
