Dear Friends,
I want to thank you for your kind expressions of welcome over the past two weeks. My vocation to the priesthood came from the support of people in my home parish of the former Our Lady of Fatima in Worcester. If you're familiar with the city, it is on Route 9 or Belmont Street right near Memorial Hospital. The expressions of faith and ministry were seen through the lens of a changing society and also during the Second Vatican Council. Growing up on "BellHill" amongst the tenements of the immigrant families, Italian, Irish, Swedish, Armenian, and many others created a great "school of learning" about people.
While much has changed over the years, the constancy of faith remains the thread joining people together. There are many challenges ahead but we will meet them knowing that Christ himself is our strength and guide.
Every week I'll be sharing my thoughts and ideas as we travel together on this pilgrimage of faith. As your parish priest, I look forward to serving you in the name of Jesus and with the patronage of our Blessed Mother, Mary.
Peace,
Fr. Michael
